Dr Arnt Vespermann
Chief Executive Officer

Dr Arnt Vespermann grew up in Flensburg and after graduating and his military services he read law at the University of Hamburg and completed his doctorate. He came into contact with the shipping industry through a traineeship at a Hamburg law firm specialized in shipping and shipping finance. In 1999 he joined Hamburg Süd and became head of legal department and the director of the tramp shipping subsidiary RAO in 2006. In 2009 he became a member of Hamburg Süd‘s Management Board and in 2017 he was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Dr Arnt Vespermann joined the Offen Group in January 2022 as Chief Executive Officer. His main responsibilities include the overall strategy, commercial management, operations and new investments.

Christoph Gessner
Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Christoph Gessner grew up on the island of Föhr and started his career with a shipmechanic apprenticeship at Hamburg Süd followed by studies in nautical and technical sciences in Hamburg.

He continued in different job positions at sea and shore within the shipping company. After four years heading the shipmanagement department of the Brazilian subsidiary Aliança in Sao Paulo, he was 2014 appointed as Managing Director for Columbus Shipmanagement in Hamburg.

In direct continuation of a short stint at Maersk in Copenhagen he joined the Offen Group in December 2018 as Managing Director.

As Chief Operating Officer he is responsible for the technical and nautical inspection, technical development, crewing, procurement and quality, health, safety and security (QHSS) of the fleet.

Andreas Lübben
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Andreas Lübben grew up in Oldenburg. He studied law at the Universities of Freiburg and Münster and qualified as a lawyer and tax advisor.

He worked for five years at a well known business law firm in Hamburg before joining the Offen Group as Head of Legal in January 2011.

As Chief Financial Officer, he is responsible for finance, accounting, tax, group controlling and the legal affairs of the Offen Group.
